Educational Programs

Infant Massage/Touch Communication Instructor Certification Training

People from all walks of life participate in a four-day experience, to become Certified Instructors to teach the art and science of Infant Massage/Touch Communication and parenting skills. They leave with the confirmed knowledge that loving and attuned touch changes the lives of people of all ages, including themselves. More Information

Bonding, Massage and Touch Communication™ For Children and Families with Special Needs (Level II)

This workshop will provide training to those who wish to deepen in their capacity to use their Infant Massage: Touch Communication skills to meet the individual requirements and needs of Children with Special Needs and their families.

This workshop will provide advanced training to those who wish to deepen in their capacity to use HFL’s Infant Massage and Touch Communication skills to meet the individual requirements and needs of Children with Special Needs and their families. Participants learn how to adapt and utilize HFL’s principles and methodology to support development and outcomes that enhance the quality of life and relationships for the entire family.

This training is also offered onsite to staff of Early Intervention Agencies, as well as at HFL’s sponsored training sites.  More Information

Compassionate Beginnings™ in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (formerly known as Compassionate Touch)

Medical professionals are trained in this family centered care program which provides physical, spiritual, neurological and developmental benefits for babies and their families as well as staff. Both families and their medically fragile premature baby living in the hi-tech hospital setting are supported and empowered in ways to provide loving and attuned communication and bonding through developmentally appropriate touch. Healthy Family Living's Core Principals Of Touch Communication

This is a two-day seminar presented to agencies that provide child and family services. Participants learn more about HFL’s relationship-centered principals of Touch Communication™ and how to apply them in their work with the clients and families they serve, as well as within the professional setting with co-workers.

Infant Massage/Touch Communication Parent Classes

Infants and their caretakers learn the art of forming secure relationships through attuned communication and loving massage, which leads to lifelong developmental benefits for the body, mind, and spirit of the family.

Touch Communication™ in Schools

A pilot program in which schoolteachers learn how to teach Touch Communication™ skills to the students in their classrooms. This program supports children experiencing peaceful touch exercises and interactions that build respectful relationship skills, decreasing aggression, fear and violence. This program is being done in collaboration and mutual cooperation with Hans Axelson and the Axelsons Gymnastiska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. More Information
